Juris Osis works as a head of the Employment, Social Work and Practice Research Division of the Welfare Department of Riga City Council. He is sociologist and for more than 25 years has been involved in sociological research covering such fields as social work, education, economics, demographics, social development, health care etc. His main area of expertise is public policy analysis and evaluation in the field of discrimination and equality with specific focus on various aspects of social exclusion (e.g. poverty, aging, disability etc.). Mr. Osis is also associate professor at the Latvian Christian academy where he teaches courses in social research methodology and sociology.
